Sway scrunchie is the perfect leftover yarn project, where you can choose between using three different knitting gauges and three different structures. The idea is that you should be able to use this pattern for exactly the leftover yarn you want. Sway scrunchie is knitted in the round on a circular needle 40 cm or magic loop.
Yarn amount (more examples below):
You can use the yarn you want, as long as you meet the gauge that you are going for. But here is the yarn consumption for these types of yarn:
17 sts x 28 r:
19 gr Sandnes Garn kos (50 gr = 150 m) knitted together with 6 gr Sandnes Garn tynn silk mohair (25 gr = 212 m) or 15 gr Drops Air (50 gr = 150 m)
21 sts x 30 r:
12 gr Knitting for Olive merino (50 gr = 250 m) or 14 gr Hjelholt Uldspinderi Dansk pelsuld 8/2 (100 gr = 400 m) knitted together with 6 gr Isager silk mohair (25 gr = 212 m)
27 sts x 32 r:
16 gr Isager silk mohair (held double) (25 gr = 212 m) or 18 gr Sandnes Garn sunday (50 gr = 235 m) or 20 gr Sandnes Garn sisu (50 gr = 175 m)
Note: I have divided the pattern into 3 different sizes. Size 1 is for a knitting gauge of 17, size 2 is for a knitting gauge of 21 and size 3 is for a knitting gauge of 27. Example: You intend to knit a sway scrunchie in Sandnes Garn peer gynt and get a knitting gauge of 21 sts x 30 r in the structure you are going for; then you will knit according to size 2.
Circumference of the scrunchie:
1: (17 sts x 28r) 44.7cm
2: (21 sts x 30 r) 45.7 cm
3: (27 sts x 32 r) 44.4 cm
Adaptations:
If you want to make the scrunchie bigger or smaller, this is easy to adapt and the formula to calculate how you can change this is attached in the pattern.

Sway scrunchie fits perfectly with any yarn that meets the gauge you choose! Considering that the pattern contains three different gauges, there is a lot of yarn you can use. Here are some suggestions for yarn with yarn amounts, but feel free to use exactly what you have in your leftover stock.
