Frostbound Sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down. Stitches are picked up for the shoulders and used to form the front section and body. Sleeves and neckline are picked up directly from the work, resulting in a refined and well-structured construction. Textured stitches and cables run along the front and back, adding depth and character to the design. The sleeves are worked in simple seed stitch, creating a balanced contrast to the textured body. The sweater is designed with an oversized fit and extra length for a relaxed, modern silhouette.

Yarn:
600 (700) 800 (800) 900 g Varde from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk (100 g = 200 m) held together with 150 (175) 200 (200) 225 g Silk Mohair from Isager (25 g = 212 m)

Size:
1 (2) 3 (4) 5

Width:
112 (121) 130 (143) 152 cm / 44 (47¾) 51¼ (56¼) 59¾ inches

Length:
57 (61) 63 (66) 69 cm / 22½ (24) 24¾ (26) 27¼ inches

Choosing the Right Size:
Frostbound Sweater is designed with approximately 35 cm / 14 inches of positive ease, gradually decreasing in the larger sizes. Sizes 1 (2) 3 (4) 5 are intended for a bust circumference of 70–80 (80–90) 90–100 (100–115) 115–130 cm / 27½–31½ (31½–35½) 35½–39½ (39½–45¼) 45¼–51¼ inches.
Example: If your bust circumference is 95 cm / 37½ inches, size 3 has a finished circumference of 130 cm / 51¼ inches. 130 − 95 = 35 cm (14 inches) of positive ease.

Needles:
4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles, 40 cm and 80–100 cm and 4 mm (US 6) circular needles, 40 cm and 80–100 cm for magic loop, or double-pointed needles.

Gauge:
18 sts x 28 r = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches in seed stitch, after blocking.
24 sts x 28 r = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches in textured pattern, after blocking.
Note: This pattern uses two different gauges, as seed stitch behaves differently from the cable and textured pattern. For a successful result, it is essential to achieve the correct gauge in both stitch patterns.
Important: Always check your gauge by working a swatch. Wash and block the swatch. When dry, measure the number of stitches per 10 cm / 4 inches.
– If you have more stitches than specified, change to larger needles.
– If you have fewer stitches, change to smaller needles.
