Balder Sweater
Balder Sweater

The Balder Sweater is an oversized raglan sweater designed around the contrast between texture and colorwork. Traditional stranded colorwork is combined with textured stitch patterns and cables, creating a balanced expression that feels both classic and modern. The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down with raglan shaping and is designed for a relaxed, oversized fit.

Choosing Your Size:
The Balder Sweater is designed with approximately 30 cm / 11.8 in of positive ease, gradually decreasing in the larger sizes. Sizes 1 (2) 3 (4) 5 are designed to fit a bust circumference of: 70–80 (80–90) 90–100 (100–115) 115–130 cm / 27.6–31.5 (31.5–35.4) 35.4–39.4 (39.4–45.3) 45.3–51.2 in
Example: If your bust circumference is 95 cm / 37.4 in, choose size 3. Size 3 has a finished bust circumference of 124 cm / 48.8 in: 124 − 95 = 29 cm / 11.4 in of positive ease.
Recommended needles:
4.5 mm / US 7 circular needles (40 cm / 16 in and 80–100 cm / 32–40 in) and 4 mm / US 6 circular needles (40 cm / 16 in and 80–100 cm / 32–40 in for Magic Loop), or double-pointed needles (DPNs).
Gauge:
18 sts × 26 rnds = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4 in in pattern, after washing and blocking.
NOTE: Always make a gauge swatch before beginning. Wash and block the swatch and allow it to dry completely before measuring your gauge. Count the number of stitches across 10 cm / 4 in. If you have more stitches than specified, change to a larger needle size. If you have fewer stitches, change to a smaller needle size.
